Scots are more likely to be financially ready for retirement than any other people in the UK, according to new research.
A study by The Bank of Scotland has also revealed that people in Edinburgh are most likely to have a pension and save for old age on a regular basis.
Of respondents living in Edinburgh, 78 per cent had a pension. Some 70 per cent of those in Glasgow had also made financial provision for their retirement, according to the Scotsman.
Head of pensions at the Bank of Scotland Mike Brown told the publication: "Whilst the good news is that many adults are aware of how much they need to save for retirement, the bad news is that they feel unable to set the money aside."
According to recent research by national charity Age Concern, saving for the future and having an understanding of pension schemes is "very important" for consumers.
